After having a break during Christmas I decided to start
getting back into a routine and going to the gym as I’m feeling a little lost.
I find this helpful to get to sleep as well as being able to release any
stressful obstacles I have to overcome. I made sure last night I worked extra
hard at the gym so I’d be asleep by 11:30pm and up by 7:30am… and here I am 10
minutes early to the seminar (wit woo to me)
Today we have learnt about how important it is to collect
data because it can improve the business as we can their target audiences needs
and wants. It’s also been a seminar of common sense on how to present data.
This is because it needs to be clear such as having the same colour columns for
a bar chart as it can cause confusion for the reader.
We also touched on the point on customer personas. This is
because they help to understand their buying behaviours, the situations they
may be facing and how to overcome them. They help the business produce new
products or improve these products to match the customers needs and wants. One
of the tasks was to briefly create a few personas if we had already collected
our data. However, as I’ve been a bit confused and at times stressed because we
still don’t have any responses from our questionnaire after posting around
different platforms for a week! I quickly decided to act upon it and ask Mark…
Tips that mark mentioned:
·
Instead of posting it on the websites, inbox the
website individually so they can post this on their wall. This was very useful
to know as it means the people will be more inclined to follow instructions
from someone who they’re familiar with rather than a random person
·
Ask the class parents, this is something I
didn’t even think about! Both Nicole and Abi are from Manchester and have
relatives with children where they can spread the word
·
Put the audience in the drivers seat: we need to
know what the audience wants thus selecting the right narratives language,
visual and graphic devices that will capture their attention
Mark knows best!
